Meet the Co-Op Founders

We are passionate about community, abundance, and encouraging the two.... welcome to Sweet Creek Community Co-op!

See that guy in the back? That's Tyrel Wiltse. As a member of Sweet Creek Community Co-op (SCCC) you will be seeing him a lot. As the founder of SCCC Tyrel is engaged, helpful and your go-to guy. A kind, strong, lovable, funny, community garden master if you will. Huzzah!

See that lady in the front? That's me, Tyrel's wife, Sara. I'd love to tell you why Tyrel is so perfect for this job as Co-op manager. Please indulge me, we can indulge on garden produce later.

If there is one thing that you should know about Tyrel it is this: THIS MAN IS PASSIONATE ABOUT COMMUNITY. He wants people happy, healthy, engaged, and having everything they need to thrive, plus more. I've watched him give his time, energy, muscles, thoughts, love, some tears, and a lot of sweat into making this possible. Tyrel is a community builder. He's also damn good at soil and garden builds. Tada - the perfect recipe for a garden co-op.

Ty (I call him Ty, he'll probably let you as well).... Ty, used to be in civil engineering. If you ask him he'll tell you all these fancy words about testing soil compaction and concrete strength.... my eyes gloss over and I summarize it by saying, "So you make sure the dirt's good". (haha!) Fast forward to the time when he met a woman who was working way too many hours and didn't have time to prepare her garden for the spring and summer. He thought she was super cute, adorable even, and when she said, "It's just my favorite way to reduce stress and I don't have the time to make it happen." Well, he went all civil engineer on it.... and I had my garden to play in, he won my heart, we had an incredibly abundant garden that year (more than we could eat, preserve, can, or give away), and we got married a year later. Now THAT is a man who knows how to create abundance.

As I've watched Tyrel gather his community, it makes complete sense it would develop into what is now Sweet Creek Community Co-Op, named after our own Sweet Creek Homestead. His community asked for gardens, he provides. I'm honored to be allowed to tag along for garden consults, attend events, and share a bit of knowledge here and there. I see his passion. I see the impact he is making in the community. And just like he helped me fulfill dreams and needs, he is doing the same for others. Welcome.
